WSU’s McKenna Woodford Freshman of Week in Pac-12 volleyball

McKenna Woodford, who led Washington State to three straight three-set wins and the championship of the Texas Tech Lone Star Showdown, is the Pac-12 volleyball Freshman of the Week.

Woodford, an outside hitter, hit .351 during the weekend, averaging 3.78 kills, 2.00 digs, 0.898 blocks and 4.28 points per set as the Cougars improved to 11-1 with a third straight tournament title.

She had a weekend high 17 kills against the host Texas Tech Red Raiders with an impressive .538 hitting percentage.

Woodford also recorded a double-double – 11 kills, 10 digs – in the championship match against Portland State.
