Spokane Indians lose season finale
PASCO – The Spokane Indians’ season came to an end with a 9-2 loss to the Tri-City Dust Devils on Sunday night.
The Indians struck out 15 times. Tri-City starter Emmanuel Ramirez fanned 10 in five innings.
Carlos Belen hit a two-run triple in the Dust Devils’ four-run third inning and Tri-City added two more in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the eighth.
Indians outfielder LeDarious Clark hit a triple to lead off the game and one out later scored on Sherman Lacrus’ line single to center field. Lacrus also drove in an eighth-inning run with a double.
Clark finished as the league leader in triples with seven. He was the team’s leading hitter with a .276 average and led the team with eight home runs and 29 stolen bases.
Spokane finished 34-42 in the Northwest League, 15-23 in the second half.
With the win, Tri-City tied Everett for the second-half division title at 20-18.
The league playoffs open today with Tri-City playing at Everett and Hillsboro at Salem-Keizer in a pair of best-of-3 series.
