Obituary: Shining, Janet Faith (Lawson)

Age 60

“The lives that I have led”… SHINING, Janet Faith (Lawson) April 5, 1955 ~ September 20, 2015 Janet was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Bobby and Eva Lawson.

Her family came to live in Spokane, Washington when her father was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base.

In 1975 she along with her daughter Michelle, married David Shining and his family.

In 1979 Janet had her second child Amber Dawn, completing their small family.

Janet devoted many years of her life to being a wife, homemaker and mother.

Friends were always welcomed-and fed well!

With the birth of her first grandchild came the name “GRANDMA COOKIE”.

This was a title that she carried proudly for the rest of her life.

Around 1998, Janet moved to Thompson Falls, Montana to begin her journey of a more simply led life, building what would be a special place for her family.

Through the years, Janet demonstrated a capacity to love without limits and show compassion to anyone in need.

She will remain in our hearts and memories always.

Survived by her mother Eva Mae Lawson; her husband and life-long partner David Shining; siblings: Bobby and Ken Lawson and Carolyn Kohler; daughters: Michelle Polk and Amber Bergstrom; grandchildren: Shelbi, Shandi, Shaylee Polk, Drew Bergstrom, and Alexis Martin; sons-in-law: Daniel Martin, Brandon Bergstrom and Jeremy Polk; along with numerous friends and loved ones.

The family wishes a heart felt Thank You to Butch Karlin and Jana and Cliff Howe of Thompson Falls, Montana, and all of the people that have loved and supported her.

The family will be having a private memorial at a later date.
