Architecture

NAC Architecture has hired Laura Hill as the human resources director, Chad Schmidt as an associate and Cody Dompier as an architect. Hill is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and is a Member of the Inland Northwest Society for Human Resource Management. Schmidt is an architect whose current projects include the Cascade High School in Leavenworth, Washington, and the Kootenai Health Phase II Surgery/Emergency Department project in Coeur d’Alene. Dompier has eight years of experience in his field and is currently working on the Tri-State Hospital Master Facility Plan Update in Clarkston and the Kootenai Health Phase II Surgery/Emergency Department project in Coeur d’Alene.

Consulting

Associated Industries has acquired Red and Associates LLC, a human resources and business consulting firm.

Education

Bridget Piper has been appointed to a five-year term with Community Colleges of Spokane’s Board of Trustees. Piper is a community volunteer and former Sterling Savings Bank officer. She was previously appointed to the board in October 2010.

Judge James Murphy has been elected by the Eastern Washington University Board of Trustees as board chair for the 2015-16 academic year. He previously served as the board’s vice-chair. He has been a a member of the board since 2012.

Health care

The Spokane Guilds’ School and Neuromuscular Center has named Matthew Thompson as the medical director. Thompson was previously the associate medical director. He graduated the from the University of Washington’s School of Medicine in 2000 and completed pediatrics training at the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He has extensive pediatric experience and expertise.

Craig Simmons, of Holistic Dental Center, recently made ten Amazon Best-Seller lists with a book co-written with several business experts and entrepreneurs, “The Soul of Success, Vol.1: The World’s Leading Entrepreneurs and Professionals Reveal Their Core Strategies for Getting to the Heart of Health, Wealth and Success.”

Spokane Eye Clinic recently celebrated 60 years of service to the local community. The first clinic was opened on July 1, 1955.

Marketing

Litehouse Foods has promoted Brent Carr to senior vice president of sales and marketing. Carr joined Litehouse in 2009 and was promoted to vice president of sales in 2012. He has 30 years of experience in his field.

Klündt | Hosmer has hired Brett Anderson as a programmer in the interactive and web application development department and Bri Young as a digital marketing/research coordinator. Anderson has more than 16 years of web development and design experience. Young previously worked as an admissions officer and ESL tutor at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts.

Manufacturing

Clearwater Paper Corporation has named Patrick Burke as group president, a consolidated role overseeing the pulp and paperboard and consumer products divisions. He previously served as president of the company’s pulp and paperboard division. Burke has nearly 30 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations and supply chain management.

Nonprofit

Sandy Brewer, president and chief executive officer of Pinnacle Investigations and Pinnacle Professional Services, has been selected by Astra Women’s Business Alliance as one of three entrepreneurs to lead the Washington Leadership Forum, which will work to support and elevate women business owners.

Jim Maxwell, vice president and chief financial officer of Rockwood Retirement Communities, has been selected by LeadingAge as a member of its 2016 Leadership Academy, a year-long program designed to strengthen nonprofit leadership in aging services.

Retail

Zak Designs has promoted Michelle McPherson to senior licensing manager and Nicole Alexander to marketing manager. McPherson has been with the company for more than 18 years and in the licensing department for 10 years. Alexander has been in the company’s marketing department for eight years.

Etailz has hired Rebecca Tenney as an inventory clerk.
