Three MSU-North students stabbed off campus
HAVRE, Mont. – Three Montana State University-Northern students were badly injured in a weekend stabbing at an off-campus apartment, Havre police said.
“They were all stabbed multiple times,” Acting Police Chief Gabe Matosich said. “It was a large, bloody scene.”
Sam Mix, 19, a Northern football player from Sammamish, Washington, was stabbed more than three dozen times, Matosich said Tuesday. He was listed in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Taylor Woolman, 19, was stabbed more than 20 times. She remained hospitalized in critical condition in Billings on Tuesday.
The third victim, 20-year-old Alicia Schneid, was treated for about seven stab wounds and released from a Great Falls hospital, Matosich said.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of three counts of attempted deliberate homicide and aggravated burglary. Officers have not uncovered a motive. Matosich said the suspect did not know the victims.
Officers suspect drugs and alcohol may be involved.
