In brief: Man who grabbed toddler in Sprague still at large
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to search for a man who snatched a 2-year-old boy from his stroller Sunday at the city park in Sprague, Washington.
The man reportedly made small talk with the toddler’s two older siblings before grabbing him, according to a news release from Sheriff Wade Magers. The siblings ran after the man and screamed. After two teenage boys joined the chase, the man released the toddler.
The Sheriff’s Office released a 911 call about the incident on Tuesday.
“A man grabbed a 2-year-old baby child and was running with him,” the caller said. She reported that the culprit was last seen heading north out of town.
News of the attempted abduction has become national news and was featured on programs including “Good Morning America” .
The man is described as white, about 30 years old, and between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build. He had a mustache and possibly a scruffy beard. His left cheek may be puffy. He was wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.

Woman killed in skiing accident identified
The woman who died in a skiing accident Sunday at Lookout Pass was a teacher at Mullan High School.
Mary Jane Bair, of Silverton, Idaho, died after she likely hit a tree, a news release from the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office said.
Bair, 61, is listed as a staff member on Mullan High School’s website. She taught consumer sciences.
Sheriff Mitch Alexander found the woman a short distance into the timber off a run called Rainbow Ridge on the ski area’s south side.
Bair was an accomplished skier and wearing a helmet, but she likely lost control and did not leave the run intentionally, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Warm weather sets records across region
Several cities across the Inland Northwest saw daily high temperature records on Tuesday as highs rose to the middle and upper 60s.
Spokane broke its record set in 1892 with 67 degrees at Spokane International Airport. The old record was 65. Records also were set in Moses Lake at 67, Coeur d’Alene at 66, Pullman at 69 and Bonners Ferry at 66.
More records could be set Friday. The weekend will bring a chance of soaking rain and gusty winds with highs in the upper 50s.
