Obituary: Pryor, Alice E. (Zundel)

Age 92

PRYOR, Alice E. (Zundel) January 24, 1923 - March 1, 2015 Alice passed away peacefully in her sleep at age 92 on March 1, 2015.

She was born in Ruff, Washington, to John and Bertha (Willging) Zundel.

She graduated from Valley High School on May 24, 1939.

She was married to Henry K. Pryor who preceded her in death after 57 years of marriage.

From that union came three children, Kenneth R. Pryor (Judy), Janet L. Pryor, and Herbert L. Pryor (Janet).

She has three grandchildren, Kenneth R. Pryor, Jr., Kenneth D. Pryor (Kelly), and John H. Pryor; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew Pryor, and Lucas Pryor.

She is survived by her sister Evelyn Ames (Alvin).

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, sisters Ruth, and Bernice, brothers Don, Herbert, and John.

She also has numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing on September 24, 1950 and worked at St. Luke’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse.

She also worked at Lakeland Village and then Interlake school as a Registered Nurse for many years.

Before she became a Registered Nurse, she taught school.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Spokane Valley Church and a Christian woman of faith.

Her favorite things to do were to read her Bible, have her daily devotions, and to share her faith.

She also liked to talk with friends and family, clip recipes, poems, newspaper articles, and pictures out of magazines.

A special thanks to her good friend Samanthra for being there for her and for your ability to make my mom laugh and smile.

A memorial service will be held at Ball & Dodd on Friday, March 13, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., in Spokane, Washington.

In lieu of flowers, gifts of remembrance may be made to ADRA, Feed The Children, Union Gospel Mission, and ASPCA on behalf of Alice Pryor.

These are just a few of the organizations she has supported over her lifetime.
