Obituary: Danielson, Floyd Charles

Age 81

DANIELSON, Floyd Charles Floyd Charles Danielson died in his home surrounded by his children, on Friday, May 22, 2015, after a short illness.

He was born March 3, 1934 near Oakesdale, WA.

He studied Pharmacy at WSU, graduating in 1956.

He was drafted into the Army and served at Ft. Sam Houston field hospital unit.

He moved to Spokane, WA in 1961.

He invented the Unit Dose Drug System that is now in widespread use in pharmacies around the world.

In 1974 he moved his family to San Diego, California and then to Livermore, California, where he worked for the Veterans Administration.

In January 1995, he retired to Bandon, Oregon, where he lived in The Captain’s House on a cliff by the sea.

He is predeceased by his wife, SharonLee Grace Danielson, his sisters Florence Arlene Danielson and Lela Maxine Scharffer; his brothers Otis Clyde Danielson, and Fred Marion Danielson; and his parents Beulah Ann Danielson, and Clarence Otis Danielson.

He is survived by his brother, Eldon (Shirley) Danielson, his children, Kenneth (Barbara) Danielson, Paul (Patricia) Danielson, Erik (Kelly) Danielson, and Elizabeth (Robert) May, his grandchildren, Anthony Danielson, Nicole Danielson, Richard W. May VII, Emily Danielson, Carla Danielson, and Samuel Danielson.
