1 Coeur d’Alene man dead, 1 injured after crash near Athol
A 23-year-old Coeur d’Alene man died Sunday morning after an SUV he was riding in flipped on a service road north of Athol, Idaho.
Damian C. Johnson, 23, was ejected from the 1995 Toyota 4Runner while riding in a forested area of Bonner County. He was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to English Funeral Home.
The vehicle’s other occupant, Dustin Harrison, 34, also of Coeur d’Alene, was treated for injuries and released from Kootenai Medical Center.
Idaho State Police reported neither man was wearing a seat belt. The ISP said it’s not clear who was driving the vehicle.
