Virginia trucker wins $92 million lottery prize in Pennsylvania

Associated Press

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – A truck driver who purchased a Mega Millions ticket at a truck stop claimed his $92 million prize Wednesday at Pennsylvania Lottery headquarters.

Steven Peloquin, 52, of Mechanicsville, Virginia, turned in the sole winning ticket from a Mega Millions drawing last week and chose the cash value payout rather than a $153 million annuity, the Pennsylvania Lottery said.

Lottery officials said Peloquin has spent nearly 30 years as a professional truck driver and was passing through the state for work when he made the purchase.

The truck stop in Milton, Pennsylvania, that sold the ticket will collect $100,000 for selling it.

The lottery calculates the odds of winning the multistate Mega Millions jackpot at about one in 259 million.
