Warriors’ Klay Thompson makes NBA All-Star team
Warriors guard Klay Thompson earned an All-Star selection for the first time, as he joined the Western Conference roster as a reserve Thursday, less than a week after he set an NBA record with 37 points in a quarter. Thompson, 24, will head to Madison Square Garden in New York for the All-Star game on Feb. 15 along with Golden State backcourt mate Stephen Curry. “It would be a big reward for all the hard work I’ve been putting in,” Thompson said before the announcement. “It’s cool just to have the label ‘NBA All-Star.’ That would mean the world, and it’s a dream come true.” The former Washington State star was selected based on a vote among the Western Conference’s head coaches. – San Jose Mercury News
