Mother arrested after children wounded
OLYMPIA – Police said an Olympia mother has been arrested after her three young children suffered severe knife wounds to their necks.
Olympia police Lt. Jim Costa said officers responded to the home after 1 a.m. Sunday. Both parents were home at the time, and the children – a 2 year-old and 6-month-old twins – had life-threatening wounds. They were rushed to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma, where Costa said they were “holding their own” after surgery.
The parents were brought to the Olympia Police Department for questioning, and Costa said the 29-year-old mother has been arrested for investigation of attempted murder.
