Bank plans first Spokane branch

Washington Federal, a Seattle- headquartered bank, plans construction of a two-story, 12,000-square-foot branch building with basement at 5322 N. Division. The project is estimated to cost $3.5 million.

Baker Construction will begin work in March to build the bank’s first branch in Spokane, for completion expected by fall, said Cathy Cooper, a Washington Federal spokeswoman.

Washington Federal has about 250 branches in eight Western states, including several in Eastern Washington that it acquired a year ago, with one in Deer Park as the closest to Spokane. The bank has served the Seattle area since 1917, Cooper said.

Camp BMW set for remodel

The Camp BMW auto dealership at 215 E. Montgomery Ave. in Spokane is scheduled for a large-scale remodeling project. Garco Construction is the contractor for the estimated $1.3 million job, city of Spokane building records show.

Lithia Motors Inc., an Oregon-based company, owns Camp BMW in Spokane.

Moore Storage LLC of Spokane Valley recently purchased a self-storage and retail property at 16823 E. Sprague Ave. The 32,620-square-foot facility, which was listed as Sprague Avenue Retail & Self Storage, includes 233 self-storage units.

The property also has 32 RV storage spaces and a retail space with 5,788 square feet fronting Sprague Avenue. The terms of the sale were not disclosed. Jeff Ottmar of Sperry Van Ness/Cornerstone represented both the buyer and seller in the transaction.

NE Community Center adds room

Burton Construction Inc. is remodeling a small space at the Northeast Community Center, 4001 N. Cook. The $8,000 project is for creating a staff meeting room, said Jean Farmer, center director.
