Woman climbs through drive-thru window to cook burger

TIGARD, Ore. – Ever have an overwhelming 4 a.m. craving for a veggie burger?

Police in the Portland suburb of Tigard arrested a homeless woman who they say climbed through a drive-thru window at a Burgerville fast-food restaurant early Tuesday to cook herself a spicy bean burger.

Her plans were interrupted when an employee showed up for work about 4:30 a.m. and called police, said police spokesman Jim Wolf.

Wolf said officers found the woman wearing a Burgerville apron and plastic gloves while she cooked.

The spokesman said the 27-year-old woman was arrested for investigation of second-degree burglary.
