UConn coach goes for 900th women’s basketball victory

UConn women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma can record his 900th career win tonight when his second-ranked Huskies play host to Cincinnati. The victory, in his 30th season, would tie him with former Texas coach Jody Conradt for fifth place on the all-time list, 198 wins behind former Tennessee coach Pat Summitt. Conradt, who coached for 38 years, says Auriemma has become the gold standard and his legacy will be about the number of championships he wins, not the number of games.
