The Salish School Remembers: Reading and Book Release - Students from the Salish School of Spokane will read poetry about Kay O’Rourke’s artwork, “The River Remembers.” The students have incorporated their family experiences and Native American history into poetry about the 30 paintings, which will be bound in a book with local poets’ reaction to the pieces and released at this event. Author Tim Hattenburg - Discussing “Death Ride: A Little Boy’s Night of Terror,” a nonfiction book he co-authored with Becky Hattenburg. The Hattenburgs spent nearly two years researching the story of Larry Kuntz, who in 1937 at the age of 5, witnessed the murder of his parents before being beaten and left for dead in the family’s car.
