Man accused of attempted abduction caught on video

Keith D. Hooks, the man accused of trying to abduct a teenage girl in a Spokane Walmart parking lot, was caught on video following the victim and grabbing her as she tried to break free, according to court documents. Police arrested Hooks Friday afternoon on investigation of unlawful imprisonment and indecent liberties for allegedly grabbing a 13-year-old girl and asking her to have sex with him. The victim was hanging out with a friend at a neighboring Starbucks when Hooks approached her, court documents say. He tried to make small talk with her and followed her when she walked towards the neighboring Walmart parking lot at 2401 W. Wellesley Avenue. He then asked her if she wanted to go behind the store and have sex with him. After the victim repeatedly told Hooks to leave her alone, she told police he grabbed her arm, refused to let her go and squeezed her breast. Security footage from Walmart showed Hooks grabbing the victim, court documents said. The victim dialed 911, and officers arrived within four minutes to arrest Hooks, police said in a press release. Hooks told responding officer he put his arm around the girl because she was cold. Hooks appeared in court Monday afternoon on the charges.
