Tim Benn biography

Age: 36

Education: Benn attended Rogers High School and was homeschooled before graduating in 1996. Earned associate degrees in general business, management and marketing from Spokane Community Colleges, obtaining the last degree in 2005.

Work experience: For the past 13 years Benn has co-owned Little Precious Ones Childcare in the Minnehaha neighborhood with his wife, Shannon. He has also worked construction and automotive jobs.

Political experience: In 2013, Benn helped form the group Parents & Providers 4 Children. During the 2014 Legislative session, Benn wrote and gained sponsors along with bipartisan support for the successful passage of a regulation reform bill that eased regulations for smaller home-based child care providers.

Serves as a precinct committee officer and a member of the board of the Spokane County GOP.

Family: Married. Has three children.
