Obituary: Hamilton, Fred B.

Age 84

HAMILTON, Fred B.

Was born on April 18, 1930 in Hunters, WA, the oldest child of Fred F. Hamilton and Ruth (Cameron) Hamilton.

He grew up on the family farm in Williams Valley, Deer Park, WA and graduated from Deer Park High School.

He passed away quickly and peacefully at home in Clayton, WA October 16, 2014.

Fred served in the Army in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953 where he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge - Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, UN Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

He was in the military police in Korea.

He wanted to be a policeman when he got out but he would have had to stay in California.

When he got to Washington they said he was too short.

He was a member of the Eagles and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He worked at Kaiser Aluminum, truck driver at Inland Asphalt, as a farmer and many other jobs to support his family.

Fred is survived by his partner, Tillie Johnson, who has been there sharing much laughter, his care and many good times during the last years of his life.

He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Hamilton, Spokane, WA; his three daughters, Jonnie Rogers, Spokane, WA, June Shaner (Bob) of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Pam Valencia (Terry) of Rathdrum, ID.

He also has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Irean (Lynch) Hamilton, who passed away in 2008; a brother, Robert; and a son, General.

At Fred’s request, no funeral service will be held.

Interment will be at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA on November 7th at 11:15.

Celebration of Life will be at the VFW in Deer Park on November 7th at approximately 2 p.m. All are invited to both events.
