Uncontested races

A look at Spokane and Kootenai counties’ ballots.

Washington

• Legislature: state Rep. Susan Fagan, R-Pullman, seeking a fourth term serving in the 9th Legislative District’s House pos. 1 seat; and state Rep. Joe Schmick, R-Colfax, seeking a fifth term serving in the 9th Legislative District’s House pos. 2 seat.

• State Supreme Court: Justice Mary Yu, seeking to be retained for remainder of two-year term; and Justice Mary E. Fairhurst, who has served on the high court since 2003.

• State Appeals Court: Presiding Chief Judge Kevin M. Korsmo, who was first sworn in to Eastern Washington’s Division III appeals court in 2008.

• Spokane County District Court: Judge Vance W. Peterson, Judge Donna Wilson, Judge Patti Connolly Walker, Judge Debra Hayes.

Idaho

• Statewide: Controller Brandon Woolf, a Republican from Boise appointed to the post in 2012; and Attorney General Lawrence Wasden, a Republican from Boise, whose Democratic challenger, Bruce Bistline, withdrew even though his name will still appear on the ballot.

• Legislature: state Sen. Steve Vick, R-Dalton Gardens, seeking a third term representing the 2nd Legislative District; Republican nominee Eric Redman of Athol in the 2nd Legislative District’s House seat B; state Sen. Bob Nonini, R-Coeur d’Alene; Republican nominee Don Cheatham of Post Falls, who will replace the retiring state Rep. Frank Henderson in the 3rd Legislative District House seat B; state Rep. Lucas Malek, R-Coeur d’Alene.

• Kootenai County: Republican nominee Warren Keene is unopposed in his bid for Kootenai County coroner.
