Cougars receiver Vince Mayle accepts invite to combine
PULLMAN – Washington State receiver Vince Mayle accepted an invitation to the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, Mayle announced Tuesday on his Instagram account.
The annual event is an opportunity for NFL general managers, coaches, scouts and personnel to observe college football’s best players as they undergo a series of mental and physical tests over four days.
Players also have opportunities to interview individually with NFL teams. Since its inception in 1982 an invitation to the combine has been one of the best indicators that a player is likely to be selected in the upcoming NFL draft.
Mayle is considered a top draft prospect and is projected by CBS Sports to be selected in the second or third round of the seven-round draft. The 6-foot-3, 219-pound receiver’s 106 receptions for 1,483 yards led the Pac-12 Conference.
