In brief: Intruder stabs man in South Hill home
A man was stabbed several times after he confronted an intruder inside a South Hill home.
Police responded to a call for help just before 5 p.m. at a residence in the 2700 block of East 32nd Avenue, police spokeswoman Monique Cotton said in a news release.
Upon arriving, police found the victim with multiple wounds. He was transported to a local hospital. His wounds were not life-threatening, Cotton said.
Police located a person who matched the description of the intruder outside the Off Regal Lounge at 30th Avenue and Mount Vernon Street. He was arrested and identified as Ben Glushchenko, 23.
Police believe he burglarized a different residence prior to entering the home where the stabbing occurred, Cotton said. Police do not believe Glushchenko knew the victim.
Glushchenko was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of first-degree assault and first-degree burglary.
