 Robert Rogers has been promoted to executive chef for Northern Quest Resort & Casino, a role in which he will oversee 14 food and beverage venues. Rogers has been the chef at Masselow’s since 2009.

Education

 Rodolfo Arévalo, president of Eastern Washington University, has been named to the 2014 board of directors for the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. The AASCU is a higher education association serving more than 400 public colleges, universities and systems.

 The Washington State Hospital Association has named Providence Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville as a 2013 Safe Care in Action Award recipient. The award was given for participation in the Partnerships for Patients initiative, a national effort to reduce patient harm and hospital-acquired conditions.

Law

 Scott Gingras and Collette Leland, attorneys with Winston & Cashatt, Lawyers, have been promoted from associates to principals. Gingras has been with the firm since 2011 and practices civil litigation. He is also vice president of the Employment and Labor Law Section of the Idaho State Bar. Leland has been with the firm since 2009 and practices commercial litigation, employment law and criminal defense. She serves on the Washington State Bar Association Editorial Advisory Committee, the board of the Spokane Chapter of Washington Women Lawyers, the Neighborhood Accountability Board of the Spokane County Juvenile Court, and the Federal Bar Association of the Eastern District of Washington.

Manufacturing

 The Association of Washington Business has named Moses Lake company SGL Automotive Carbon Fibers LLC as the 2013 Manufacturer of the Year in recognition of its innovation and operational excellence, as well as its contributions to the state’s economy.

 The Lighthouse for the Blind Inc., a Seattle-based company with an office in Spokane, was given the Continuous Commitment Award for its employment of people with deafness and blindness. The award is given to an AWB member that has demonstrated manufacturing excellence for consecutive years.

Cyndie Wiltsie, owner of LaundraMutt, a do-it-yourself dog wash, has opened a dog day care and kennel. Dog-N-It Daycare & Kennel and LaundraMutt are both at 2900 Government Way, Coeur d’Alene.

 The Inland Northwest Community Foundation has appointed Michael Bibin, of Bibin & Associates, and Bob Bishopp, of Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Co., to a three-year term as members of the board of directors. Committee members for the organization have also been announced as follows: Michael Bibin to the finance committee; Joe Dinnison, of John L. Scott Real Estate, and Candace Godwin, of Godwin Marketing Communications, and Stephanie Taylor, of Randall & Danskin PS, to the gift planning and marketing committee; Betsy Wilkerson, of Moore’s Boarding Home, and Bob Bishopp, to the grants committee.

 Staci Huffman has been named chair of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho board of directors. Previously, Huffman served as the first vice chair of the Board. She is a staff accountant at McDirmid, Mikkelsen & Secrest and also serves as a trustee for the Libraries of Stevens County.

 The Washington State Housing Finance Commission named Christina Pegg, Leah Greenwood, Sue Cary, The Opportunity Council, and Helen Stevenson as the 2013 Friends of Housing at the annual Housing Washington conference in Spokane. Former Gov. Mike Lowry was given the Margaret M. Sevy Affordable Housing Lifetime Achievement Award.
