Wells sparks Eagles

Hunter Wells highlighted West Valley’s nine-run sixth-inning rally with a three-run double and the Eagles stayed alive with a 9-5 win over Prosser Tuesday in a 2A subregional elimination game at Prosser.

West Valley claimed the fourth seed to state and Prosser was eliminated.

• DePaul Blunt had three hits, including a home run, and Clarkston claimed a state berth with a 6-5 win over East Valley (Yakima) in a 2A subregional game in Clarkston.

District 7 2B

Colfax walloped Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 21-4 in Medical Lake to claim the second seed to the state playoffs. The Broncos are the third seed.

Colton scored four runs in the top of the seventh and beat Almira/Coulee-Hartline 6-2 in a regional play-in game at Medical Lake.
