COMING UP: Tonight vs. Saint Mary’s, 8 (ESPN2)

OUTLOOK: GU has dominated the WCC since the late 1990s, but Saint Mary’s has made inroads the last few seasons. After a string of runner-up finishes, the Gaels have won or shared regular-season championships the last two years. GU and Saint Mary’s have played in the last four WCC Tourney title games with both teams winning twice. The Bulldogs and Gaels, in that order, rank 1-2 in the WCC in scoring offense, field-goal percentage and scoring margin. The Gaels’ top three scorers are guards, led by Matthew Dellavedova (17.4). The Zags have a slight edge in several defensive categories.
