Reward offered for two benches stolen last summer

Saltese Cemetery caretaker provided seats

The caretakers of Saltese Cemetery are looking for missing benches that are similar to these sculpted by Concrete Works, a Spokane Valley company.
From Staff Reports

Two artisan benches featuring decorative rabbits were stolen from the Saltese Cemetery last summer, and caretakers are offering a reward for their return.

Caretaker Mary Cabbage hopes someone has seen the seats and will help return them to their place inside a gazebo at the cemetery.

Cabbage and her husband, Bill, purchased the benches about 10 years ago for $300 each because of their love for the wild rabbits that frequently hop around the rural cemetery that has about 2,000 burial plots.

The couple has been taking care of the pioneer cemetery for about 35 years.

There’s a $250 reward for the return of the bunny benches. To help, call Mary and Bill Cabbage at (509) 926-0895.
