Eagles cruise past Indians

Hallie Nordhagen came off the bench to hit three 3-pointers and the West Valley Eagles rallied from a 2-point halftime deficit to beat the North Central Indians 54-37 in nonleague girls basketball action on Wednesday at North Central.

The Eagles took control by outscoring the Indians 22-11 in the third quarter.

Maddy Wilhelm scored 11 points to pace West Valley, while Megan Dean led North Central with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Northwest Christian 68, Medical Lake 27: Mackenzi Gray totaled 18 points and 10 rebounds and the Crusaders breezed to a nonleague win over the visiting Cardinals.

Emily Bonsant scored 10 to top ML.

Timberlake 60, Lakeside 32: Keelie Lawler tossed in 14 points, while Allison Kirby and Jessica Norlander each scored 13 to propel the Tigers (1-2) to a nonleague victory over visiting Lakeside (1-2).

Omak 62, Lake Roosevelt 47: The Pioneers led by 11 points at the end of the first quarter and never looked back in a nonleague win over the host Raiders.

Wallace 61, Mullan 40: Emily Nelson led all scorers with 17 points, adding eight rebounds and four steals as the Miners handled the Tigers in Mullan.

Morgan Hill added 12 points for Wallace.

Boys

Jake Love tallied a game-high 28 points and the West Valley Eagles secured a 65-53 nonleague victory over the host North Central Indians. Alex Hall added 18 points for the Eagles.

Marcus Saugen led the Indians with 20 points, while Quinn Zerba chipped in 12.

Northwest Christian 74, Medical Lake 37: The Crusaders cranked up the defense in the second half, holding the Cardinals to eight points, in a nonleague win at NWC.
