Gonzaga Prep eliminated from AA American Legion state tourney

Montesano limited Gonzaga Prep to two hits in a 3-1 victory at the AA American Legion state tournament Monday in Anacortes, eliminating GP.

Brock Bayley (0-1) took the loss, allowing three runs – two earned – on six hits in a complete game. He stuck out seven while issuing no walks.

Gabriel Renouard drove in Gonzaga Prep’s lone run with a sacrifice fly. Brenden McClary and Mason Kuebler had the two hits.

State AAA

The Spokane Bandits gave up five runs in the first inning and couldn’t recover, losing 8-2 to the Twin City Titans at the AAA American Legion state tournament at Carlon Park in Selah.

Devin Atchison and Jacob Clements drove in runs for the Bandits, who were eliminated with the loss.
