Megan Ayers and Mary Theil have been promoted to associates of Integrus Architecture in Spokane.

• Sound Telecom presented call center employee Phil Vinsaw with its Super-Agent Award for achieving the highest call quality scores for April. Vinsaw has been with the company since 2001.

Consulting

• Copperleaf Counsultants, a division of VEBA Service Group LLC, hired Kevin Best as a group benefits consultant. Best previously served as chief deputy assessor for Spokane County.

Education

Greg Orwig has been named vice president of admissions and financial aid for Whitworth University. He has served as an interim in the role for the past year. He has worked for Whitworth since 1999 and earned a degree from the university in 1991.

• Gonzaga University has named Stephen Silliman dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science. He previously worked for the University of Notre Dame as a professor and associate chair of the civil engineering and geological sciences department. He is an expert groundwater hydrologist and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Princeton University, and master’s and doctorate degrees in hydrology from the University of Arizona.

Noelle Wiersma has been appointed dean of the College of Arts and Sciences for Whitworth University. Wiersma previously served as a professor and chair of the university’s psychology department.

Finance

• Banner Bank promoted Mike Shortell from retail manager of the bank’s Millwood location to vice president/relationship manager of the Spokane Commercial Banking Center. He has been with the company since 2006.

Katrina Phillips has been promoted by Numerica Credit Union to South Hill Branch manager. She has been with the company for 12 years. The company also promoted Guy Ottersen to Havana Branch manager. He has been with Numerica Credit Union for nine years.

• HomeStreet Bank has hired Josh Reed as a mortgage loan officer at the company’s Spokane Valley lending center. Reed has more than 10 years of finance industry experience.

Health care

• Riverstone Family Health has hired Dr. Minh Le as a physician in the practice of family medicine. He is a graduate of State University New York, Upstate Medical University. He completed his internship at Duke University, a residency at Cook County-Providence Family Medicine Residency Program and a fellowship at Austin Medical Educational Programs.

Dr. Amie Shaw has joined Group Health Permanente/Veradale Medical Center. She is a graduate of Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internship and residency at Providence Family Medicine Residency of Spokane.

• Spokane Obstetrics and Gynecology has hired Nicole Boice as a physician assistant. She is a graduate of the University of California-Davis.

Miscellaneous

Melissa Chastek has been hired as a client service representative for VEBA Service Group, a division of Gallagher Benefit Services Inc. She graduated from Gonzaga University.

• The Spokane Association of Realtors presented Myron and Rita Bursell with its 2012 “Citizens of the Year” award for their community involvement with the Spokane Lilac Festival and Downtown Kiwanis. The Bursells own Green Gables Photography in Spokane.
