U-Hi junior-to-be Bailey commits to USD
University High’s Brett Bailey, a second-team All-Greater Spokane League boys basketball selection as a sophomore, has orally committed to play for the University of San Diego, according to his father, Kevin.
Bailey, a 6-foot-5, 190-pound guard, took unofficial visits to USD, Pepperdine, Washington State, Drake, Stanford and San Francisco, Kevin Bailey said.
“San Diego recruited him the earliest and the hardest,” Kevin Bailey said. “They made it clear that Brett would be a big part of their 2013 class and he felt it was going to be the right fit.”
Bailey averaged about 15 points to help the Titans finish third in the GSL. He was the lone sophomore to earn All-GSL honors. Bailey’s older brother Kyle plays for Biola University in La Mirada, Calif.
San Diego is coached by former Gonzaga assistant Bill Grier.
