DALLAS – Washington State University senior running back James Montgomery turned himself into the Pullman Police Department on Thursday evening, was arrested, posted bond and was released on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
Montgomery, who was cited for failure to appear on a previous traffic-related misdemeanor charge, made the trip to Dallas and participated in Friday’s walk-through prior to today’s game at Southern Methodist.
“Coaches are aware of (the arrest) and have dealt with it,” WSU sports information director Bill Stevens said.
Montgomery, WSU’s leading rusher with 148 yards on 30 carries, has started the Cougars’ first two games. He is expected to play today.
