Associated Press The Spokesman-Review

FLAGSTAFF Ariz. – Kyle Landry scored 22 points and Northern Arizona snapped a three-game losing streak with a 68-64 win over Eastern Washington on Sunday.

Kellen Williams led EWU with 17 points, while Milan Stanojevic had 12 points and Brandon Moore had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

NAU (15-9, 7-4 Big Sky) trailed 26-22 with 5:24 left in the first half when a Zach Filzen 3-pointer sparked a 15-0 run and the Lumberjacks took a 37-26 lead into halftime.

The Lumberjacks extended their lead to 13 points with 13:28 left when Josh Wilson’s short-range jump shot hit nothing but net.

EWU (9-17, 4-8) climbed back into the game thanks to a 7-0 run capped by a Stanojevic 3-pointer at the 11:49 mark.

The Eagles cut the lead to two points with 32.6 seconds left on a Stanojevic 3-pointer from the right corner. They had a chance to tie it with 11 seconds left, but Matthew Brunnell’s attempted tip in of Adris Leon’s missed layup was short and NAU’s Nick Larson came down with the rebound.

Larson was fouled, and made one of two free throws and NAU held on for the win. Filzen finished with nine points.
