WSU, EWU men home

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

Washington State looks to extend its men’s basketball record to 5-0 at 7 p.m. tonight against Idaho State in the Cougars’ second home game of the season.

WSU defeated Texas-San Antonio 67-44 Friday night in its home opener, and now it’ll take on the Bengals in an attempt to match the 1996-97 team’s winning streak to start the season. Idaho State is 1-2 but took Marquette to overtime in one loss.

The Cougars will have one additional player to rely upon tonight on Friel Court. Freshman Nikola Koprivica has served a four-game NCAA suspension because of playing time on a professional team in Europe.

EWU hosts Geoducks

Eastern Washington has its second men’s tuneup tonight before challenging 16th-ranked Washington in Seattle on Friday.

The Eagles (1-2), fresh off an 85-70 win over NAIA Lewis-Clark State, face The Evergreen State Geoducks at Reese Court.

The game will start about 8 after the Eagles women (3-0) tackle Washington (0-2) at 5:30.

Eastern beat LCSC without Omar Krayem, Brandon Moore and Kellen Williams, who sat out for violating team rules. Paul Butorac, Derek Risper and Matt Penoncello will miss tonight’s game for violating team rules.

Rodney Stuckey leads EWU.

Evergreen is 2-2 after a 95-76 loss at Portland State Monday.
