Looking back SCC class in 1966

Employment training

Fifteen women enrolled in the first large-scale power sewing machine operators class offered at Spokane Community College in October 1966. The class was developed in cooperation with Pacific Trail, a jacket manufacturer new to Spokane. Students who successfully completed the refresher course were eligible for employment when the garment factory opened later that month. Standing on the left is instructor Mrs. L.F. Gardner, and in the back of the classroom is Alvin B. Danielson, SCC coordinator.
