O’Reilly wins prestigious BorderClash race

Mt. Spokane senior Megan O’Reilly set a girls course record at the seventh annual Nike BorderClash cross country race on Sunday in Beaverton, Ore.

O’Reilly finished with a time of 15 minutes 47.37 seconds in the event that pits Washington’s best distance runners against Oregon’s elite. Washington won the event for the fifth time.

On the boys side, Kenny Klotz of Portland’s Central Catholic High won for the second straight year, becoming the first runner to post back-to-back titles. He clocked in at 13:58.67.

Robert Cosby of Ferris High placed fourth with a time of 14:09.50, while Nick Atwood of East Valley High finished 18th with a time of 14:32.39.

Football

The Pullman Greyhounds’ semifinal playoff game against the Connell Eagles has been changed to 6 p.m. Saturday at Lampson Field in Kennewick.
