Lc Sweeps Past Rogers For 3-1 Mark

Ingrid Lindeblad’s 15 assists and Shannon Snow’s 12 digs Thursday led Lewis and Clark to a 15-10, 15-5, 15-5 Greater Spokane League volleyball win at Rogers.

The defending State AAA champion Tigers (3-1) crept closer to firstplace Ferris and Gonzaga Prep, both of which were idle. LC began the second game 8-0 after a back-and-forth first game.

Mandy Flores had seven kills and nine digs, and Teana Scott seven kills and three blocks for the Pirates (0-4), who have played teams with a combined 9-4 record.

At Central Valley, Jessica Sanborn had 21 kills, 12 blocks, eight digs and five aces in Mead’s 15-4, 12-15, 15-8, 15-11 win over the Bears (0-2).

Jen Clark added 11 kills and Andrea Carnahan 21 assists for Mead (2-2), which broke from an 11-all tie in the final game. Crystal Lee had 15 kills and 10 blocks, and Ginger Clark added 11 digs, nine kills and nine blocks for CV, which won its first game from Mead in three years.

Frontier League volleyball

East Valley, which has won one league title in the last 19 years, took early control with a 15-13, 15-9, 8-15, 15-11 win over visiting West Valley, the defending league champion.

Farrah Parsley had 11 kills and four blocks, Angela Overdorf 11 kills and four aces, and Anjie Blindauer nine kills and three aces for the Knights (2-0). Arin Craig had 13 kills and seven blocks for WV.

Frontier League girls soccer

At Chattaroy, Melanie Erickson’s hat trick guided host Riverside (2-0) to a 10-0 win over Pullman (0-2).

Katie Bowers, Jill Thompson and Danae Anderson all scored twice for the Rams. Bowers and Thompson had two assists apiece.

Goalkeepers Stacey Roberts of WV and Anita Haton of host EV recorded shutouts in a match between 1-0 teams. The visiting Eagles were outshot 18-10.

At Cheney, the host Blackhawks opened league with a 7-0 win as Lisa Anderson, Rachel Stewart and Shelly McGrew each scored twice.

The Cardinals (0-2) managed just five shots on goal to Cheney’s 41.
