Reardan 74, Ritzville 54

At Reardan, Joe Holwegner scored 24 points to lead the Indians (13-8) past the Broncos (8-13) in the beginning of the double-elimination portion of the tournament.

Reardan jumped to a 26-8 lead in the first quarter as Ritzville converted just three field goals.

Things weren’t much better for the Broncos at the foul line, as Ritzville made 11 of 24 attempts.

When the tourney continues today, the Indians will play Almira/ Coulee-Hartline for a chance to advance to the championship. The Broncos will meet Valley Christian in a loser-out game.

Matt McMurray scored six of his 21 points in the third quarter to rally the Wilbur-Creston Wildcats (12-9) past the Gorillas (10-12).

W-C overcame a 28-25 halftime deficit with a 23-point third period.

The Wildcats will play SpragueHarrington for an opportunity to advance to the title game. Davenport will play Lind in a loser-out game.

Ryan Floyd had 17 points and the third-ranked Falcons (21-0) remained unbeaten by defeating the Bulldogs (10-12).

Floyd scored seven of his points in the second quarter as S-H took a commanding 29-15 lead.

Laci Hunsaker made a pair of crucial baskets in the fourth quarter and the 10th-ranked Warriors (16-5) sidestepped an upset bid by the Lancers (9-12) as the double-elimination portion of the tournament began in Reardan.

Liberty trailed by four entering the final quarter but Amy Torguson, just back from a shoulder injury, scored six of her game-high 13 to trim the edge. Liberty made 12 of 15 free throws, ACH 8 of 13.

When the tournament continues today at the same site, ACH plays Davenport for a berth in the title game. Liberty meets Lind in a loser-out game.

Jennifer Stinson scored eight of her 22 in the fourth quarter, and Andee Marriott scored nine of her 20 in the second quarter, as the third-ranked Gorillas (20-1) defeated the Bulldogs (6-16).

Davenport held Lind scoreless in the second quarter, stretching its lead to 30 points. The damage could have been worse, as the Gorillas missed 13 of 18 free throws. Lind was 1 of 9 from the line.

Jackie Humphrey scored 12 of her 28 in the second quarter and made 10 of 12 free throws overall as the Indians (14-6) defeated the Broncos (12-9).

Humphrey made 6 of 7 free throws during her big quarter. Chelle Coleman of Ritzville made a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

The tournament-host Indians play W-C today for a berth in the title game. Ritzville plays Odessa in a loser-out game.

Rosalia outrebounded Tekoa-Oakesdale 32-25, but the Spartans committed 19 turnovers.

Tekoa-Oakesdale will meet St.John-Endicott (9-11) today in a loser-out match-up.

Gar-Pal will meet league champion and fourth-ranked St. John-Endicott (18-2) tonight for the No. 1 and 2 berths to the District 9-B Tournament.

Colton plays Monday against today’s winner between Tekoa-Oakesdale (13-8) and LaCrosse-Washtucna. Monday’s winner is No. 3 to district, while the loser is eliminated.

Stacie Baumann scored the only points during overtime - a pair of free throws - as the LaCrosse-Washtucna Tigercats (9-12) eliminated the Spartans (7-13).

Rosalia led 39-35 with 20 seconds left in regulation. Jessica Daniel of L-W made the last of her six 3-pointers. Teammate Kelli Bruce hit two free throw with 14 seconds left for a 40-39 lead. Rosalia forced OT when Staci Bernard made a late free throw.
