Today in Photos
We have three subjects in today's photo show. Parts of the aircraft and some bodies are being recovered from the Air France flight that crashed off the coast of Brazil. A second set of beautiful photos show divers examining an S-class submarine that was located near the Aland Islands between Sweden and Finland. The Russian sub went down during WWII with a crew of 50. And the last images involve protests from around the world. People protesting government, former presidents, elections, and corporations.

This undated image made available Tuesday, June 9, 2009 by Stefan Hogeborn, shows a diver examining the hull and deck gun of a Soviet submarine that sank with a crew of 50 during World War II. One of the divers, Marten Zetterstrom, says the S-class submarine was located near the Aland Islands between Sweden and Finland. Zetterstrom says all crew members died when the vessel exploded in 1940, probably after hitting a mine. Markus Lindholm, an Aland-based maritime archaeology expert who studied pictures of the wreck, says the claim appears to be true. He says only one submarine was known to have sunk in the area. Zetterstrom says divers found the wreck in February after a decade-long search but only announced it Tuesday because they wanted to confirm the identity of the submarine.
