COUGARS
FROM PULLMAN -- There are a few reports circulating today that 6-foot-10 center James Hunter, who played at Gillette (junior) College the past two seasons, has committed to play at Washington State.
...
Messages left with Hunter's JC coach have not been returned, so we can't confirm this one officially yet. And WSU says there's nothing official to announce yet, either. But Rivals.com is reporting that Hunter will sign with the Cougars, which would give them yet another big man in their 2013 class. If the report is true, this would put WSU one player over the 13-scholarship limit, with six reported commitments and just five spaces available (assuming Will DiIorio will be a walk-on again this season). So, given the last two commitments have come from big men, it seems there is a real possibility that Richard Peters might not qualify. There's still work to do for Demarquise Johnson, too. ... Hunter averaged a shade less than 13 points per game as a redshirt freshman in 2011-12, along with 6.8 rebounds. He would have three years of eligibility remaining once he arrives. Otherwise, there's very little information available on him.
We'll update as necessary.
