Spokane Valley

The Spokane Valley blog is back from vacation

Tonight's Spokane Valley City Council meeting brings a city staff update on the Painted Hills Development. Expect the update to be essentially the same as the one council received in 2015. Tonight's presentation is for the benefit of the three new council members who have been appointed earlier this year.

Also on the agenda is a presentation by Spokane County Library District Director Nancy Ledeboer. As the library bond was rejected by voters, the Library District is asking the city of Spokane Valley to buy back property off Sprague Avenue, near Balfour Park, where the proposed new library would have been built. This is in accordance with the agreement the District had with Spokane Valley, except the District is asking for its money back a little sooner than planned because it's not doing another bond.

And we can expect an update on solid waste collection.

PS. the egg that was stolen from the Discovery Playground is still missing. Parks and Recreation Director Mike Stone really wants it back - if you know who lifted it please call (509) 720-5400 - you don't have to give your name.
