Spokane Valley

Golf balls falling from the sky and big ideas revealed

On a gorgeous fall-like Friday morning the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce announced the "Big 5 Ideas" for Spokane Valley at a breakfast at Centerplace Regional Event Center. Over the past couple of months, the chamber asked people who live, work and are otherwise connected to Spokane Valley, to submit ideas for the future of the Valley.

A series of online surveys and town hall meetings helped participants narrow down 10,000 suggestions to these five big ideas:

- Greater Outdoors; promote and protect the vitality of the outdoors.

- Greater Goods; promote the Valley as a leader in high-tech manufacturing.

- Greater Learning; integrate business and education to create the workforce for the future.

- Greater Cures; grow medical research from concept to cure.

- Greater Vision; build an enterprising vision for the Greater Spokane Valley region.

The morning's golf ball drop is a fundraiser for the Chamber's scholarship fund.
