Painted Hills on Spokane Valley city council agenda

The Spokane Valley city council recently asked staff to prepare a presentation about the proposed Painted Hills development, and it's on the agenda for the Oct. 6 meeting.

After Painted Hills ceased to operate as a golf course it was purchased in 2013 by Dave Black Inc. at a real estate auction. Black has proposed the construction of 580 homes on the former golf course. A neighborhood group has organized in opposition to the development sending out a flier. The group has written letters to the editor and started a gofundme campaign to fund their efforts. The group has also hired a consultant to review the traffic study submitted by the developer.

Tuesday's meeting is a study session so no public testimony is allowed.
