A drive-through Starbucks could soon become part of the downtown Coeur d'Alene landscape, if the city determines it is allowable. The intersection of Sherman Avenue and Seventh Street is the proposed location of the new Starbucks, according to documents from the city's planning commission. Interpretation of city guidelines for drive-through businesses was requested by Garry Fowler, who wrote in an email he was contacted by an interested party seeking to turn the current Zip Stop convenience store and gas station into a Starbucks with a drive-through window, as well as traditional seating. "We feel that the drive-through coffee would be an improvement and much better fit for downtown Coeur d'Alene," Fowler wrote/Keith Cousins, Coeur d'Alene Press. More here.
