Labrador’s Nampa town hall draws 350

1st District GOP Rep. Raul Labrador’s second town-hall meeting in two weeks, held last night in Nampa, drew a crowd of about 350, and health care issues dominated the questions. Labrador expressed support for a border wall on the Mexican border, saying, “I am for the wall,” while also calling for changes to the immigration system combined with a high level of enforcement; he repeated his comment from the previous town-hall meeting that he doesn’t believe health care is a right; and he again spoke out against funding Planned Parenthood, displaying a map showing the three Planned Parenthood clinics in Idaho and another showing federally qualified health clinics around the state, which he said should receive the funding instead.

Labrador’s town-hall meeting ran for more than two and a half hours. He’s planning a North Idaho session within the coming weeks. So far this year, he’s the only member of Idaho’s congressional delegation to hold a town-hall meeting in his district.
