Montana Capitol building to be featured in upcoming TV series

HELENA – The Montana Capitol will be featured in a new television series starring Kevin Costner.

The Independent Record reported more than 200 crew members, actors and extras came to film at the Capitol building Thursday.

The new series titled “Yellowstone” will focus on a family that owns the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States.

The patriarch John Dutton, played by Costner, and the family will be challenged by an expanding town, an Indian reservation and America’s first national park.

Other scenes are being filmed on a ranch near Darby and in Utah.

The series will be broadcasted on Spike TV, which will be rebranding itself as Paramount Network in January.
