Risch’s defense troubling

I don’t get it. Why did Sen. Risch tie himself to the mast of the Trump Titanic? Does he think it’s noble to go down with a sinking ship? Is he betting the administration stops taking on water and he gets rewarded with a cushy job for personal loyalty to Trump? Why would a U.S. senator be comfortable with revealing classified intelligence from Israel (one of our closest allies) to Russia on an apparent whim?

While many GOP senators were disturbed by President Trump’s actions, Sen. Risch not only declared them legal, but the right thing to do. Israelis are livid, and I don’t blame them. How can the U.S. be trusted by any of our allies? And if they stop sharing intelligence, we are at greater risk of attack. Sen. Risch has some serious explaining to do for his unqualified support of this foolish action.
