Game 41: The Seattle Mariners (19-22) host the Chicago White Sox (17-21) at 7:10 p.m. in the first of a four-game series at Safeco Field.

Sam Gaviglio is the 10th different starting pitcher used by the Mariners this season. This is the second season in club history in which Seattle has used at least 10 different starters in the club’s first 42 games to start a season. The Mariners employed 11 different starters through their first 42 games in 1977.

On Wednesday, the M’s received a terrific start from Christian Bergman to beat the Oakland Athletics 4-0 to win the series. Bergman allowed two hits and two walks with a career-high nine strikeouts over a career-high 7 1/3 innings, and James Pazos was perfect over five outs, with three Ks, to end the game.

Bergman became the first pitcher in club history to not allow a run while striking out at least nine in one of his first two starts as a Mariner.

The Mariners are 7-0 this season when the starter pitches at least seven innings.

Seattle has won five consecutive home series, the second-longest active home series winning streak in the Majors. The Mariners trail only Baltimore (7), while ranking ahead of Houston (4) and Oakland (4) for consecutive home series won

Seattle’s five home series wins are tied for third-most in MLB this season.
