Rolled semis spew corn onto interstate, block westbound traffic on I-90
A rolled semi truck spilled corn onto Interstate 90 blocking westbound traffic for several hours, early Friday morning.
According to tweets from a Washington State Patrol spokesman, three semi trucks were involved in an accident around 4:30 a.m. Two of the three rolled in the crash spewing corn stalks across the interstate. There were only minor injuries.
The accident occurred near Easton, east of Snoqualmie Pass.
The crash completely closed the westbound lanes for two hours.
Around 6:30 a.m. state patrol managed to push the semis and the corn to the side, opening up one lane of westbound traffic. However, I-90 westbound will close completely later this morning so state patrol can remove the damaged semitrucks.
On Twitter a state patrol spokesman urged drivers to check the interstate’s status before traveling west.
