Find common ground

The misrepresentations and lies from both sides of the political spectrum are getting tiresome, especially since we as a people have more in common than we have apart.

Trump won the presidency. For whatever reasons, Hillary lost. Trump’s presidency is legitimate and is no less so because he did not get the votes from the majority. He won an Electoral College election, not a popular vote election. This is not the first time the presidency was awarded to the person who failed to win the majority, and as it is developing, Hillary Clinton is on track to have the historically largest number of votes for the loser of a presidential election.

We are all Americans and we are all in this together. As President Obama succinctly put it, we are all on the same team. We need to find common ground where we can and resist all forms of intolerance as we must.
