Casino mogul Wynn’s ex-wife files bid for control of $900 million of stock
LAS VEGAS – Casino mogul Steve Wynn’s ex-wife wants a Nevada court to give her control of more than $900 million worth of company stock that was restricted by a shareholders agreement five years ago.
Elaine Wynn filed documents Monday in Clark County District Court alleging her ex-husband breached contractual promises made after the couple divorced in 2009.
She agreed in January 2010 to give up control of her nearly 10 percent holdings of Wynn Resorts stock but now says that’s no longer needed.
Steve Wynn responded Tuesday with a statement deriding the court filing as the product of a disappointed ex-wife trying to tarnish his reputation with “lies and distortions.”
Elaine Wynn’s 68-page filing is part of a Wynn Resorts lawsuit against Steve Wynn’s former partner, Kazuo Okada, and his company Aruze USA Inc.
